I'll take that cardigan, forget the undies: me no likey

It is pretty strange that I love admiring clothing and jewelry soooo very much, yet I wear the same white gold skinny wedding band, pearl earrings, and running watch every day. You would think I'd have an extensive collection of stylish pieces for my wardrobe. I really don't though. Not at all.

However, I have an extensive collection of cardigans....and underwear...

note: I actually have more cardigans than I do pairs of undies. The Cardigan has been perfected...though, to date, underwear have not.

This is a bit of an issue though: because society feels that we need more undies than cardigans. Sure, we should wear underwear everday...I dont care though.

I'd wear a bare behind and cardigan any day! (kidding, I'm a bit shy...especially when I'm not on the sauce) but really, give me little girl white panties with that lace trim and I'm a happy girl. Is it too much to ask for those in a big girl butt size? Hey Victoria's Secret...how 'bout some that'll last through the washer. If we pay $5-15 for our undies, we'd like to wear them more than once....

I guess there is 1 caveat to that statement... we may spend more for a 1 time baby making mission... without the intention of wearing them again...but, I might want to frame them should said mission be successful.

(of course I wouldn't wash them before framing - 5 second rule? buh dum ching)

So now that you understand my position on the undie situation, please feel free to also validate my cardigan courtship...

heck, marriage now. It has been some 26 even years going strong - I'd be willing to bet I've been wearing them regularly for longer than I have underwear anyway. I'm fine with that too. How about you?

What's your lifelong essential piece? Your can't-have-enough-ever item? Please refrain from including jeans. I love jeans too, but you know there's gotta be something else on your list.

Melissa - this is such an adorable post and how true it rings (insert: image of Melissa with her hands semi covered by her cardigan holding her coffee. Don't worry, I am not imagining your underwear ;)). I can relate to your opening as well. When I feel like relaxing I can flip through clothes catalogs or magazines to see the new trends. Yet, I despise shopping! To answer your question my essential piece is shoes. My Grandma nicked named me Imelda Marcos so this is a known love.
